During this weekend Dr. Brooke and Sarah will be covering several topics including:

  • We’ll cover nutrition, fitness and everything in between!

This retreat will go beyond the standard lecture format; we want you to get hands on and in the trenches with us, and our time together will not be about us standing up in front of you but instead Dr. Brooke and Sarah will be joining in the process of self-discovery and healing right along with you, offering guidance and direction to help you along your journey, wherever you might be.

We want to build the weekend on the foundation of women coming together to support, learn, and grow with each other because we truly believe that we are better together.

You will have several opportunities to be in break out sessions with Sarah and Dr. Brooke to work on everything from perfecting your squat and correcting mobility issues to examining your unique hormone and health questions all with the emphasis on honing in on the importance of mindset and perspective so you can leave the weekend filled up with the resources and tools you need to feel better!

We will share meals, enjoy time in nature, learn about our unique hormonal landscape and biochemistry, and have opportunities for unique experiences together that will be all about play and joy!

Here’s what to expect:

Thursday May 7th:

6:00 pm Meet & Greet
We will kick off the retreat at a private location with a light dinner and beverages. This will be an opportunity to get to know each other before we dive into the weekend!

Friday May 8th – Retreat will Commence at JS Strength & Conditioning

7:00am – 8:00am Optional Gentle Healing Yoga Session with the amazing Lisa Weber

8:30am – 9:00am Cooking for REAL life!
We will kick off the day with an interactive cooking demo where together we will prep and prepare our group lunch! Get ready for laughs and spills, this is gonna get real!

9:00am – 9:30am Introductions and Welcome with Brooke, Sarah and Traci

9:30am – 10:30am The Miracle of Surrender
Sarah will lead a discussion around how surrender might be the secret to success when it comes to finding and committing to what works for you in all aspects of your life – from nutrition to relationships, sometimes it’s simply our resistance that’s our worst enemy.

10:45am – 11:45am Discovery of Self – a Group Experiment
Brooke, Sarah and Traci will take the group through an hour of discovery and discussion dedicated to examining our beliefs around Self Care, Body Image, & Self Love.

12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch (that we prepared ourselves together!)

1:00pm – 1:30pm Your Warm Up Matters!
Sarah will teach you how to properly warm up so that your body is primed and ready to move.

1:30pm – 3:30pm Building Confidence in the Gym – Technique
If you are a Brand New Beginner or a Seasoned Veteran in the gym, we want to help you up your game and hone in on where you should start or be in the gym with your lifts.

4:00pm – 5:00pm – Keto & Fasting – How To Use Advanced Nutrition Strategies Without Having Them Wreck You
Dr. Brooke will cover unique implications for women’s hormones when it comes to fasting and ketogenic diets and help you use these strategies if/when they work for you without having them wreck everything you’ve worked so hard to heal.

Friday Night Dinner on Your Own in Beautiful Chico – We will make several yummy local recommendations where you can venture out alone or join up with some of the other attendees if you wish. This will be a good evening to break away and reflect on Day 1 before we dive back in together on Saturday.

Saturday May 9th – JS Strength & Conditioning and Upper Bidwell Park

8:00am – 9:00am Optional Restorative Aerial Yoga w/ Brittan Scott of Freebird Aerial Yoga
Get ready to take flight, but don’t worry – any skill level can take part in this beautiful restorative practice that is sure to make your spirit soar and your soul smile!

9:30am – 11:30am Mindfulness Hike in Upper Bidwell Park
Connect with your authentic self and with the group away from the distraction on a mindful hike led by Sarah, Dr. Brooke, and Traci.

12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch provided back at JS Strength & Conditioning

1:00pm –  4:00pm  Break Out Sessions

We will split into three groups where you will have a chance to spend small group time with each of us, getting your questions answered and tuning into your intentions, and also working out with Sarah, John and the JS Team!

Dr. Brooke Hormone Deep Dive – Menopause & Female Hormones and Autoimmunity Small group time with Dr. Brooke to ask all of your questions about making Hangry work for your unique hormonal issues. It’s time to fine-tune!

Sarah, John & JS Staff – Program Modification, Mobility Help, and Workout

Traci – Navigating Goals with Authentic Intentions – Traci will take you through a group discussion designed to help you take the steps towards living your most authentic life!

4:30pm – 5:30pm Mindset Tools – with Dr. Brooke and Q&A with Sarah and Dr. Brooke

7:00pm  – Private Dinner for All Attendees – Relax, converse, nourish and be in community. We can’t wait to pamper you with a special evening just for our attendees!

Sunday May 10th Wrap Up at JS Strength & Conditioning

9:00am – 10:30am  LIVE podcast with our attendees as our guests!

10:45am – 12:00pm – Wrapping up the Weekend.

Nearest Airport: Sacramento International Airport approximately 1 ½ hours from Chico so you’ll want to rent a car or you can also Uber or Lyft from the airport to Chico, it’s about $100 each way, and then you can also Uber or Lyft your way around town.

Chico is a small town so wherever you end up staying you’ll be guaranteed a 15 minute or less drive away from JS Strength & Conditioning.
